Henriette Sonne is a professional artist who also has many years of experience as a teacher.
As an artist she exhibits her work internationally, most frequently in New York. For 4 years Sonne owned and ran one of Copenhagen’s largest private painting schools. As a tutor she presents her knowledge in a professional, accessible and sometimes humorous manner.
Henriette Sonne is recognised internationally and exhibits mainly in New York where she has also studied portraiture and landscape. Henriette started up one of Copenhagen’s largest private painting academies in 2002 which she owned and ran over 4 years. She has a long and successful career as an Art Tutor and Consultant.
She is from Copenhagen in Denmark, but has had her main studio in Norway for the past 7 years, where the light, landscape and rich cultural heritage is a frequent source of inspiration for her.
In recent years Henriette has displayed her paintings in a great variety of different exhibitions for contemporary art, including SNAB Louvre at the Louvre, Paris, ARTexpo in New York, the Florence Biennale for Contemporary Art. Her artwork has also been included in a great many art publications worldwide, and has featured on the front cover of New York Art Magazine.
Here is an overview of materials you will need for this course:
- A pencil (preferably HB)
- Paper (Sketchpad in A3 size or similar 135gsm)
- Eraser
- Ruler (50cm or 20 inches)
These extra items may also be useful:
- 2 or 3 thin sticks or pencils
- Pencil sharpener or small knife
- A little sketchpad (A5 or A6 size)
This course comes with a 26-page workbook, which includes various practical exercises and can be downloaded here once you have purchased the course.
We recommend printing it out on regular size office paper and following along with the exercises during the course.
